It is not enough to know the reasons why some Christians are sick or how to receive healing from God. You must strive to know how to keep your healing and retain it. Otherwise, it will be a labor in futility. I know of people who claimed of receiving healing miracles at one time in their lives only to see them again after few weeks of suffering the same sickness. In the light of the scriptures, it is possible for one to lose his healing if he doesn’t know how to keep it. In this post, I will show you in clear and practical terms how to keep Your Healing and retain it. Get ready for empowerment that will enable you to reign and rule in divine health, subduing every sickness under your feet. Now let’s get started.
- Understand that whoever God has healed is healed forever- Prov 24:3, Matt 13:19
Every divine healing from God is established in the life of the one who received it by understanding. When someone receives healing from God and doesn’t understand it, the devil will come and steal it from him. You need to understand that God cannot lie because He is not a man. Whoever God has healed is healed forever. God can’t heal you and the sickness will return back. When God opens a blind eye, no devil or man can close it. When God takes away your cancer, ulcer, arthritis, pneumonia, chest pain, sickle cell anemia, no devil or man can bring it back into your body. If God healed you yesterday, you are still healed today and will forever be healed. Any case God has settled is settled forever. You need this understanding to keep and retain your healing. The Bible says,
God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent: hath he said , and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Numbers 23:18
Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28
- Don’t Observe the lying vanities of the devil- Jonah 2:8
Do you want to know how to keep your healing? It is to shut your ears and close your eyes from seeing the lying vanities of the devil. When you receive a healing from God, sometimes it may take a few days or weeks for all the symptoms to go. What the devil does is remind you of the symptoms and using them to argue with you that you are not healed. The devil will ask you “if you are really healed, why are you still feeling the pains in your head?” Remember those who observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. Forget the symptoms, when you cut the root of a tree, the leaves will still be green for a while. But the lifeline of the tree is gone. It is just a matter of time, the leaves will dry up. If you look at the symptoms your faith will fail and you will lose your healing. The bible says,
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord save me. Matt 14:30
- Return to Give Glory to God- Luke 17:18, Rev 12:11
Do you still want to know how to keep your healing and Retain? It is by returning to the altar of God to give God glory. A testimony not shared is a healing forfeited. When you appreciate God for healing you, He will preserve your healing. Anything you give God glory for, you commit Him to protect and defend. Testimonies are seeds of victory. Sometimes you don’t need prayer and fasting to overcome the devil, you can overcome him by the word of your testimony.
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And He said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. Luke 17:18-19
When you return to give glory to God through testimony and thanksgiving, your healing shall be made whole. If you want to keep your healing and retain it, give God glory for it and He will perfect it.
- Maintain your confession of faith- Heb 10:23
Another sure way to keep your healing and retain it is by maintaining your confession of faith. Keep declaring that you are healed by His stripes. As long as you keep saying the word in line with your healing, no devil can steal it from you. For life and death are in the power of the tongue. And where the word of a king is, there is power. The consistent positive declaration is a sure way to keep your healing and retain it. Our God is too faithful to fail. Don’t stop talking the word that you are healed.
- Don’t be a clean and empty Vessel- Matt 12:43-45
When the spirit of infirmity is cast out of a person, that demon will go through dry places seeking for a place to rest. And when he finds no place to stay, he will return to check on the former place where he left, if he comes and finds the place still empty, he will go and invite other seven demons more wicked than himself and all of them will live in that man. The last condition of that man will be worse than the former. Don’t be a clean and empty vessel. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Be on fire for God. Keep speaking in other tongues. Keep singing and worshipping God. Be in the Spirit and fill your heart with His presence and power. Let the word of God dwell richly in you in all wisdom. That’s the way to keep your healing and retain it.
- Walk in Righteousness- John 5:14
Another way to keep your healing and retain it is to walk in righteousness and holiness. If you return to the sinful living, the devil may get back at you and afflict you again with sickness and disease worse than before. Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to anybody. Stay away from sin and sickness will stay away from you. You can protect your healing and health with purity. There is no better way to conserve your healing than consecration. God said it shall be well for the righteous. Make up your mind to say no to sin. Living an upright life does not reduce people’s height. The gain of righteousness is more than anyone can pen down on this page. Sin is the mother of sickness. Receive grace now to walk in righteousness all the days of your life in Jesus' name.
