Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. 2 Cor 5:17

One of the most powerful truths you need to know when you become a born again Christian is to understand the reality that you are a new creation in Christ. This is the truth that will set you free from every oppression of the devil and cause you to become a victorious Christian all the days of your life. Many Christians are still struggling with mediocrity and fear because they have not understood who they are in Christ. Some are being treated as trash and foot-match in different places because they have no clue of what manner of being they are in Christ. Until you know who you in Christ, you may never know what you are capable of doing, what legally belongs to you and what you shouldn’t accept. The new creation reality is a clear and unambiguous revelation of man’s true identity and authority in Christ. In this post we shall briefly explore the nature of the New Creation and the possibilities that exist in him.

WHO IS THE NEW CREATION?
The new creation is a biological child of God. He is born of the Holy Ghost and the word of God. He is the seed of the almighty God, produced by the sperm of the everlasting God. He carries within him the DNA of God. He belongs to the family and class of God. He is a member of the God-class. The new creation is not just a human being, he is a Spirit. And as a Spirit, his life is spiritual. Though he lives in this world, but his operations and situations are from the spiritual world of heaven. He is from above and therefore above all. The new creation is not just someone who goes to church or participates in religious activities. He is someone who has repented from his sins and has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Saviour. He is a born again Christian.

WHERE IS THE LOCATION OF THE NEW CREATION?
The nativity of the New Creation is divinity. The home address and permanent residence of the new Creation is in Christ. Redemption changes a man’s location and spiritual address. You are not just from your physical location, the moment you are born again, you are transferred from the jurisdiction and domain of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of God. You are not just in Nigeria, America, Australia, United Kingdom, Singapore or Russia, you are in Christ. Christ means the Anointed one and His anointing. So you are living in the anointed one and His anointing. That’s a safe place to live. When you are in Christ, your life is hidden in Him and Christ in God. You are too protected to be hurt. You are invisible to evil.  The location and nativity of a new Creation is in Christ.

OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY
The New Creation in Christ does not have a past. He only has a temporary present and a colorful future. The moment you are born again, your former old sinful life and Adamic nature is terminated and supplanted by the new life of God. As a new creation in Christ, you are no longer who you used to be before. Old things are passed away. Your allegiance and connection with the devil, sin, sickness and poverty have passed away. You are no longer a slave to the devil. You are free from all the harassment of the enemy. Though you may still have you physical features like body size, height, skin colour and gender intact, but your inward man is completely changed. The change is a spiritual change, not a physical one. It can even reach to the way you think and reason before. Your entire perspective and view of life and this world can change when you become a new Creation in Christ. Even the way you see other people, talk or spend your money can change as a result of the new birth. It is an inner change that produces an outward transformation. It is a spiritual termination of the old you to release the new you. Don’t allow people’s opinion about you based on your past to discourage you. It doesn’t matter what people think about you, what matters most is who you have become in Christ. Old things have passed away. Let this reality saturate your consciousness.

BEHOLD THE NEW YOU
The New Creation is a brand new man, specie that has never existed before. He is not just refurbished or decorated, he is created a new in Christ. All things have become new! What things? Your life, your heart, your nature, your situation, your spiritual environment, your possibilities etc. Redemption is the greatest miracle. This is because it is the total overhauling of man’s entire life and destiny. Salvation is not just making a religious declaration. It’s more than that. It is a spiritual encounter with God. It is the infusion of God into a man. If an electric current goes into a human body and kills it, what happens when God goes into your body, soul and spirit? Ulcer, cancer, typhoid, tuberculosis, HIV, Paralysis, etc cannot survive the infusion of God into your human Spirit, Soul and Body. The new birth produces a new man with a brand new life. It also replaces your failed heart with a brand new heart. It takes away your decayed kidneys and gives you new ones. But if you can’t see the new you, you will remain a slave to the old you. What you behold is what you will become. Seeing is receiving. Elijah said to Elisha, if you see me, you will get it, but if you don’t see me, you lose all. This is the place of perception and conception. What do you see? Behold the new you. See yourself the way God sees you. See yourself as a child of God. See yourself as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. See yourself as the light of this world. See yourself as a royal priest and a peculiar person, the chosen of God. How you see yourself will determine how people will see you. Because our attitude defines our actions which influence people’s reactions towards us. You can’t see success within you and won’t reflect it on the outside. There is a way you will see so much of life inside of you that you will start playing with death like a toy. When you see wealth and riches in your heart, you become rude to poverty. See the New You! Look Inward. You are not who you used to be before, you are a brand new person now with a brand new life. See success, good health, righteousness, power, dominion, riches, peace and glory. If you can see the new you, the world will shake under your feet.

Anchor Scriptures: 2 Cor 5:17, Gal 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

When someone is not born again, he is a sinner not because of what he does or what he does not do but because of who he is. Sin is not just an act, it is a nature- the very nature and life of the devil which was imparted into man through the first Adam. Everyone that is born of a woman comes into this world as a sinner, and remains an enemy of God doomed to perish with the devil and his demons in hell fire unless such is saved by Jesus Christ and receives a new life (Psalm 51:5, Rom 3:23-24, John 3:3, Rom 5:1). In this lesson, we shall examine the nature of a Saved Christian in different aspects.

    (A)   What is this natural nature of man? 1 Cor 2:14. It is the sin-nature, the old man or the flesh.

   (B)     Mention the acts of the natural man in the following verses Rom 1:26-32, Gal 5:17-20. Eph 4:17-22, Col 3:5-9, Rev 12:8. If you still behave according to the above verses, you are not yet spiritual.

   (C)    What should be the nature of a saved Christian? Gal 5:22-23, Eph 4:23-32, Col 3:10-11, Phil 4:8-9. The fruit of the Spirit is just the very Character or nature of a child of God. When you are born again, the seed of God is planted in your heart, then it is your job to develop these virtues for they are already in your spirit-man.

    (D)   Is it possible to be perfect on earth in character? Col 3:10, Eph 4:13. Yes it is possible to be perfect on earth in character. God cannot tell you to do what He knows you cannot do. Jesus said, “Be ye perfect, even as your father in heaven is perfect” Matt 5:48.  If Jesus said you can be perfect, that is blameless and upright before God and man, all you need to do is to believe it and begin to grow your faith, discipline yourself and the fruit of the recreated human spirit will begin to mature in your life and perfection becomes a reality. That is where God wants the church to operate from-THE REALM OF PERFECTION (Ephesians 4:11-13).

    (E)    Is Eternal Security of Salvation true or false?
There is this erroneous teaching popular among some hyper-grace teachers that once one is saved, he is saved forever irrespective of what he does or how he lives his life. This is not true.  There is nothing called eternal security of salvation in the bible. The scripture says, “He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved” Matt 24:13.  Ezekiel 18:24, Phil 2:12, Psalm 78:57-59, Heb 10:37-39, buttress the fact that there is no such thing as eternal security of salvation in the Bible. If you backslide into sin and Iniquity, you will perish in hell unless you return to God and repent. Once saved, is not saved forever. You must abide in Him, else He will never abide in you.

    (F)     Does the kind of Character and behavior we see in the churches today reflect Spirit-filled life?
We need to come back to God and ask for a fresh fire in the church, for the glory of many Christians has departed. Many are just careful sinners, pretenders and hypocrites.

CONCLUSION
To be born a sinner is by chance, but to die a sinner is your choice. And no matter how bad your life may be, there is a supernatural transformation for you in Christ. Get to know the HolySpirit and live in the Spirit and your life will never remain the same.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, I thank you for the gift of your son Jesus Christ. I am a new Creation in Christ, I have the life of God in my spirit, Soul and body. Whatever that can’t be found in God can’t be found in me. Old things have passed away. I am no more a slave to sin, Satan, poverty and sickness. All things have become new. I walk in the newness of life. I see success, prosperity, excellence, joy, peace, righteousness, power, dominion, wisdom, glory and honour within me. I am blessed forever in Jesus name, Amen.
